Identifies the manufacturer, importer, or authorized representative as responsible for the conformity of products in contact with drinking water.
The first defines conformity assessment procedures, the second product marking specifications: both fully applicable from December 31, 2026.
From December 31, 2026, DM 174/2004 is repealed. From January 1, 2027, every new product placed on the market must have an EU declaration of conformity and labeling according to DWD requirements and logo: without it, it cannot be placed on the market and sold in the EU.
The most robust practical reference remains Construction Products Regulation (EU) 305/2011, Art. 11: 10 years of technical documentation retention after market placement — a principle that applies in parallel to many valves and fittings, also being construction products.
